CSF Kicks Off in Nashville

December 5, 2019

Cosmetic Surgery Forum (CSF), now in its 11th year, has kicked off in Nashville. It’s the meeting’s first time in the Music City, which allows for live injection sessions—a popular meeting highlight.
The program covers everything from cannabidiol (CBD) in skincare and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for hair loss and facial rejuvenation to chemical sunscreens and their effect on marine life, plus male and female rejuvenation.
“New forms of botulinum toxin are either here or just around the corner. We will be covering them fully so you know what the pros and cons are before they hit the market!” says CSF founder Joel Schlessinger, MD, owner and CEO of LovelySkin.com, founder of the Advanced Skin Research Center, and Practical Dermatology® magazine’s Chief Cosmetic Surgery Editor.
A CSF newbie, Kavita Mariwalla, MD, a dermatologist in West Islip, will be discussing skincare and how to woo and educate Millennial patients, while faculty veteran Matthew J. Zirwas, MD, from Bexley Dermatology in Bexley, OH, plans to discuss the influx of CBD-based products in skincare.
“I have been really interested in CBD for about four years, and it blew up this year,” he says. “I have a good bit more research to do, but based on experience and initial research, I think it is all hype/placebo effect and no actual benefit.”
Look for meeting highlights from DermWire and video coverage from DermTube, coming to your inbox next week.
