Intermittent fasting may have a positive influence on symptoms of psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and psoriasis (PsO). Findings come from a study that followed psoriasis patients who participated in intermittent circadian fasting over the course of Ramadan. (Nutrients e-pub March 2019) After one month of fasting, subjects demonstrated a reduction in C-reactive protein levels, Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index, PASI, and Disease Activity index for Psoriatic Arthritis. Enthesitis improved and dactylitis severity decreased.
