Meet the CSF Faculty
Todd Schlesinger, MD is a clinical, research, and cosmetic dermatologist. He is the founder and medical director of the Dermatology & Laser Center of Charleston as well as the Clinical Research Center of the Carolinas. (For those of you who are wondering, he is not related to Dr. Joel Schlessinger—one ‘s’ in his name versus two in Dr. Joel’s name—but they have been friends for many years.)
He’s a frequent guest on the podium at many major industry meetings and 2022 marks his first time as faculty at the Cosmetic Surgery Forum (CSF) meeting in Nashville.
“I’ve always had a lot of respect for CSF founder Joel Schlessinger, MD, who has been a friend and colleague for many years, and at a recent conference, he invited me to be a faculty member,” he explains.
“It is our pleasure to welcome him to CSF,” says Dr. Joel Schlessinger. “I have always been a huge fan of Dr. Todd Schlesinger and his scientific acumen. We have conducted many clinical trials together on new indications and it is exciting to have him on podium with us at CSF.”
Dr. Schlesinger’s lecture topics at CSF 2022 will feature his favorite devices, including microneedling pens, body sculpting technology, and other workhorses for his practice. He will also be part of a panel discussion on advanced neurotoxins and fillers.
Dr. Schlesinger completed his residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and is the founder of a three-office dermatology and dermatologic surgery practice and clinical research center. His areas of research focus are inflammatory dermatoses, cutaneous oncology, and cosmetic dermatology. He is the author of more than 100 peer-reviewed publications as well as several book chapters and numerous presentations and posters at national and international conferences. He is past president of the South Carolina Medical Association, the South Carolina Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, and the current Editor in Chief of the American Academy of Dermatology’s (AAD) ongoing member CME program Dialogues in Dermatology. He is also an incoming board member at the AAD and serves South Carolina as an Alternate Delegate to the American Medical Association.
Dr. Schlesinger is the past President of the Charleston County Medical Society. He served as President of the South Carolina Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery and was named Dermatologist of the Year by that organization in 2019. In addition, Dr. Schlesinger was recognized as an alumni recipient of the Cleveland Clinic 2007 Innovator Award for his commitment to collaborating with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation for bringing new technology related to nutraceuticals for skin rejuvenation to patients. Dr. Schlesinger is also a member of Practical Dermatology® magazine’s editorial board.
