Sponsored by Valeant Dermatology, the I Acanya Succeed Scholarship program was created to help students who have had acne and have actively tried to address it. The scholarship will award a total of up to $48,000 each to three US citizens accepted to or attending an accredited college, university, or vocational school as an undergraduate student. The winners must have been previously diagnosed with acne; at some point were under the care of a licensed dermatologist, physician's assistant, or nurse practitioner; and have had personal experience with using a prescription acne medication. Students must create a video essay that shows the impact acne has had on their life and personal experiences, and the role their dermatologist, physician's assistant, or nurse practitioner played in helping them successfully treat the condition. Students are required to include two letters of recommendation. The deadline for application is April 30, 2013.
