FotoFinder Universe App Permits Image Access Via iPad

02/15/2013

Physicians can access before and after photos from an iPad for viewing, editing, and comparison, using FotoFinder's new Universe app for iPad 2, 3 and 4 and iPad mini. Used in conjunction with the company's mediscope photo documentation suite and Satellite communication interface technology, the Universe app allows more relaxed, casual manner on a device, compared to standing over a patient viewing a big screen, the company says.    The Universe app simplifies the creation of rejuvenation plans by allowing doctors to set up treatment templates in the edit mode and drag them onto a photo instead of having to type on photos, and allows physicians to simultaneously zoom and pan before and after photos, draw on photos, highlight treatment areas and copyright an image for publication. Additional features include intuitive drawing tools like arrows, lines and area, and a black bar feature to hide a patient's eyes.   Images modified in the FotoFinder Universe app can be saved to a database and are never stored on the iPad. Access to the app is password protected for privacy.    “Patients are more objective about their appearance and are more open to procedures when they look at their photos instead of in a mirror. But having a computer in every room of your practice is usually not possible or practical, stated Ferdinand Mayer, Vice President of FotoFinder Systems, Inc. “FotoFinder's Universe app for the iPad was the logical solution. It gives our customers access to their pictures wherever they need them.”
