AMBI Skincare Announces Annual Skin of Color Society Research Award

March 12, 2013

The annual AMBI Skin of Color Society Research Award was recently presented to Jenna O'Neill, MD, for her contribution to dermatological research in skin of color, specifically in characterizing the genetic basis of central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia. The Award is sponsored by a $15,000 grant from Valeant Pharmaceuticals to promote dermatology research within the field of skin of color. The grant addresses the issues specific to skin of color where further clinical and basic research is needed. “AMBI's longstanding commitment to the organization and to dermatological issues primarily affecting skin of color is reflected in this generous donation,” said Valerie Callender, MD, President of the Skin of Color Society. “The program fills a void in the industry where further study in these specialized topics is crucial. We are proud to partner with a brand that is devoted to these issues and appreciate the support they've pledged.”
