Caliber Imaging & Diagnostics Introduces VivaScope 1500 Multilaser System

09/10/2013

Caliber Imaging & Diagnostics, formerly Lucid, Inc., recently introduced the VivaScope 1500 Multilaser system, cellular imaging devices that give researchers the option of a painless, noninvasive optical skin biopsy to study changes at the cellular level.

The new VivaScope 1500 Multilaser systems include three lasers of different wavelengths that can be used in fluorescence-mode imaging to enhance image contrast when combined with dyes that are FDA-approved for human use. The system is well suited for a wide variety of skin research applications for the evaluation of personal care products, pharmaceuticals, and in animal research. With the VivaScope 1500 Multilaser system, changes in living skin are viewed at the cellular level, and because the imaging is completely noninvasive, cellular changes can be monitored over time without damage to the tissue, according to the company.
