Minnesota and Louisiana have both recently passed legislation banning the use of indoor tanning facilities for those under 18 years of age. Both laws go into effect on August 1, 2014. Nine states in total have instituted bans on indoor tanning for minors, including Vermont, California, Illinois, Oregon, Nevada, Texas, and Washington.
