Sente has been granted the European Patent for use of a low molecular weight heparan sulfate (HS) for cosmetic products. HS is the most biologically active glycoprotein that is present in all layers of human skin and is the scientific base to Sente Inc's proprietary Dermal Repair Cream.

Michael York, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sente, said, "We are pleased to expand our intellectual property portfolio around the low molecular weight heparan sulfate technology with a new patent in a major market like Europe."

The Dermal Repair Cream, launched in 2013, is Sente's first physician dispensed dermatological product. According to the company, it is formulated to help the body replenish the essential skin building blocks that are lost with aging and UV exposure.
