November 13, 2014

"Cosmeceuticals and Cosmetic Ingredients" (McGraw Hill), the second textbook from Dr. Leslie Baumann, is now available through Amazon.com and booksellers internationally.
Written for medical and skincare students and professionals, "Cosmeceuticals and Cosmetic Ingredients" focuses on the science behind active ingredients found in cosmeceutical formulations and the role they play in skincare regimens as well as different skin types. With more than 15 years of research experience, Dr. Baumann also addresses many myths and misconceptions about specific ingredients, and outlines what each can and cannot do. The book's approach is described as "brand agnostic", and its detailed information is accompanied by references to published evidence.
Dr. Baumann is also author of "Cosmetic Dermatology: Principles and Practice" (McGraw Hill), and the New York Times bestseller, "The Skin Type Solution," which adapts her Baumann Skin Type Indicator for consumer use.
Cosmeceuticals and Cosmetic Ingredients is divided into 10 sections:

Barrier repair ingredients
Skin lightening ingredients
Antioxidants

Other ingredients (Coenzyme Q10, ginger, honey, etc.)
