ADAM Names Lori Skraba 2017 Practice Manager of the Year
The Association of Dermatology Administrators and Managers (ADAM) named Lori Skraba of DuBois Dermatology and Cosmetics in DuBois, Pa., the recipient of the annual Practice Manager of the Year award. She was recognized at the 25th annual ADAM meeting in Orlando, FL.
The ADAM Practice Manager of the Year award, made possible in collaboration with CareCredit, recognizes a top professional from the organization who best demonstrates outstanding leadership qualities, management skills and consistently goes above and beyond their responsibilities within the practice. Lori helped establish the private practice a year and a half ago, spearheading the staffing, onboarding, training and credentialing of 13 employees, and has fostered a team environment of respect, open communication and family that translates to patient care. “Her interactions with patients go far beyond the normal duties of an office manager,” said Lisa F. Pfingstler, MD, in her nomination letter. “She has an uncanny ability to put patients at ease, and works hard to keep costs reasonable for patients while not disrupting their care.”
“Lori’s leadership, customer service attitude and management skills are beyond compare,” added Dr. Pfingstler. “She has been absolutely instrumental in the formation and success of this
practice, and continues to impress me with her drive and determination. She accepts any challenge, no matter how difficult, or impossible, with ‘yes, I will take care of that.’ I am incredibly grateful to have Lori leading our team and the opportunity to work so closely with her on a daily basis.”
"After reviewing a number of excellent candidates, it was clear that Lori’s contributions to her practice stood out,” said Gabi Brockelsby, president, ADAM. “She has clearly been an integral
part of establishing the practice, from staffing to team building, training and ensuring its financial soundness, her leadership and daily dedication to her practice exemplifies what it means to be
the Practice Manager of the Year.”
As the ADAM Practice Manager of the Year award winner, Ms. Skraba receives a $1,000 cash prize and a scholarship to attend the 2018 annual ADAM meeting, which is underwritten by CareCredit, the founding supporter.
