ASDS Honors Top Choose Skin Health Skin Cancer Screeners
The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) honored the top screeners in its nationally-recognized Choose Skin Health free skin cancer screening program.
Currently in its seventh year, Choose Skin Health promotes the prevention and early detection of skin cancer by encouraging the public to choose healthy, sun-safe behaviors. In this award-winning partnership with Neutrogena, ASDS members facilitate free cancer screenings and educate their communities on the benefits of using sunscreen regularly and practicing monthly skin self-exams. The program has produced more than 24,000 total skin cancer screenings where one in 10 result in a skin cancer diagnosis.
The Choose Skin Health Top Volunteer Screener awards recognize ASDS members who have devoted tremendous time and energy to provide free skin cancer screenings to the public. In 2017, ASDS volunteer screeners hosted over 1,000 free skin cancer events with more than 2,000 skin cancer screenings performed.
