CeraVe: Suncare Products Get Skin Cancer Foundation Seal of Recommendation

07/20/2016

Two products from Valeant Consumer Healthcare's CeraVe skincare line have received The Skin Cancer Foundation (SCF) Seal of Recommendation for sunscreens. CeraVe® AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 30 has earned the “Daily Use” Seal and CeraVe® Sunscreen SPF 50 for Face has earned the “Active” Seal.

“The Seal of Recommendation is a symbol of safety and efficacy in sun protection products. Products that earn the Seal have met the strict criteria of an independent committee of photobiologists (experts in the study of the sun’s interaction with skin). When purchasing a product that holds the Seal, consumers can be confident that the product performs as claimed," The Skin Cancer Foundation says.

“The Skin Cancer Foundation’s Seal of Recommendation carries significant weight in the purchasing decisions of sun-mindful consumers,” stated Joe Gordon, General Manager, Consumer Health Care at Valeant Pharmaceuticals. “We believe that more and more people are becoming aware of the dangers posed by unprotected sun exposure and for these individuals, particularly, the Seal of Recommendation is very meaningful.”

CeraVe® AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 30 ($13.99; 3 oz. pump) and CeraVe® Sunscreen SPF 50 for Face ($14.99; 2.5 oz. tube) can be found at drugstores and mass market retailers nationwide. For more information: www.cerave.com or www.valeant.com
