Dermatologist Dr. Jill Waibel Selected as Keynote Speaker for Orlando Derm
Laser expert and dermatologist Jill S. Waibel, MD, will provide the keynote speech, "Lasers for Trauma Rehabilitation: Giving Humans the Power to Heal Themselves," at the Orlando Dermatology Aesthetic and Clinical Conference (ODAC). Dr. Waibel was recently featured in national news coverage regarding her work in using the latest advancements in lasers to help heal the scars of Kim Phuc. As a child, Ms. Phuc was severely burned by napalm during the Vietnam War, an experience that was captured in an iconic image.
"We are thrilled Dr. Waibel will be sharing her expertise on using lasers for trauma rehabilitation," said dermatologist James Spencer, MD, chairperson of the event. "While lasers in dermatology are more commonly thought of for aesthetic purposes, lasers can also help reduce the severe pain burn victims experience. This session continues ODAC's mission of increasing the knowledge and skill of dermatologists, which, in turn, improves patient care."
The ODAC conference, which will address a variety of cosmetic, surgical and medical dermatology topics through an interactive learning experience, including live demonstrations, will be held at the Omni Orlando Resort in Championsgate, FL, January 15-18, 2016.
