Practical Dermatology magazine is pleased to announce that Jennifer Soung, MD is the new psoriasis editor.

Dr. Soung, a dermatologist at Southern California Dermatology in Santa Ana, CA, will replace Jerry Bagel, MD. Her first feature article is slated to in the November 2019 issue of Practical Dermatology.

Dr. Soung serves as the director of clinical research at Southern California Dermatology in Santa Ana, CA. Handpicked by her predecessor, she is an expert in treating chronic autoimmune skin diseases and has extensive experience using phototherapy, systemic medications, and biologics. She has authored several peer-reviewed journal articles and lectured at professional meetings to talk about new advances in the treatment of chronic skin diseases. Dr. Soung previously served on the UCI School of Medicine faculty as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology and the Director of Dermatology Clinical Research from 2010 until 2015. She is now an Associate Professor at Harbor University of California in Los Angeles.

Dr. Bagel served as psoriasis editor for 15 years. “I am totally impressed with Dr. Jennifer Soung as an up-and-coming star in the world of psoriasis,” he says. “She has great energy as a speaker and researcher and she has only scratched the surface of her potential.
