Global CME Conference to Spotlight Eczema Burden, Treatment Advances

10/10/2025

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • The first H&W Global Dermatology CME Conference focusing on global eczema care will be held Nov. 12–16, 2025.

  • The conference founders stressed the importance of integrating emerging treatments and global best practices into clinical care.

Health & Wellness Global Alliance will host its inaugural H&W Global Dermatology CME Conference November 12-16, 2025, aiming to spotlight the international burden of eczematous diseases.

The event aligns with the mission of co-founders Firas George Hougeir, MD, FAAD, and Jonathan Weiss, MD, FAAD, a press release said, to promote early and effective treatment of eczema across populations. According to data from The Global Atopic Dermatitis Atlas 2022 cited in the release, AD is ranked as the most burdensome skin disease by disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), affecting up to 20% of children and 10% of adults. The news release also noted data presented at the 2025 European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) Congress also highlight a concerning association between adult AD and increased suicidal ideation. Chronic hand eczema and allergic contact dermatitis also contribute further to the global eczema burden.

“The evidence is clear,” said Dr. Hougeir in the release. “Patients suffer daily with pain, itch, and sleep disruption. We now have newer, effective topical and systemic therapies, and more are on the horizon globally.”

Dr. Weiss emphasized deepening and evolving the understanding of eczema pathogenesis and the importance of integrating novel therapeutics.

“The treatment landscape has shifted dramatically in just a few years, and dermatologists must adapt," he said.

The conference will be held at The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island, South Carolina.
