Hair & Scalp Disorders in Focus at Upcoming Virtual CME Conference
Organizers have launched a new CME-accredited conference focused on providing dermatologists insights and strategies for treating hair and scalp disorders in diverse populations.
Hair & Scalp Disorders: The Rx Pad & Beyond, a virtual event scheduled for June 28, is billed to offer a focused, three-hour curriculum looking at some of the most complex conditions in dermatology, according to a press release. Organized by MedscapeLIVE! and SanovaWorks (publisher of the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology ), the conference aims to highlight real-world treatment paradigms, including both prescription and over-the-counter therapies, according to the organizers.
“Hair and scalp disorders are among the most psychologically and diagnostically challenging conditions we treat, yet they often don’t get the airtime they deserve in mainstream dermatology education,” said Adam Friedman, MD, FAAD, conference co-chair, in the news release. “This conference was born from a pressing need to close that gap, bringing together experts and emerging science in both the OTC and Rx arenas.”
The event will focus on case-based discussions, emerging science and evidence-backed strategies in the management of alopecias and other scalp conditions. Together with Drs. Friedman and Amy McMichael, MD, FAAD, who serves as co-chair, the faculty roster includes four other leading experts in hair disorders: Crystal Aguh, MD; Ronda Farah, MD; Meena Singh, MD; and Raja Sivamani, MD, MS.
“This conference will relate the most current information including both conventional and complementary medicine approaches to hair loss,” said Dr. McMichael in the news release. “We want to teach about scalp health, which is often forgotten, and address the zeal to effectively treat typical forms of alopecia.”
Registration is complimentary and open to all healthcare professionals. Attendees can earn up to three AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
