Incyte Opens Applications for HS-Focused Ingenuity Awards

Incyte has announced the launch of the Incyte Ingenuity Awards (IIA) in Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS), a new initiative developed in collaboration with patients, advocates, and clinicians to address challenges faced by HS patients, according to a press release from the company.
“The Incyte Ingenuity Awards in HS is built on the voices of patients and advocates who have shared their experiences and ideas with us,” said Matteo Trotta, Executive Vice President and General Manager of U.S. Dermatology at Incyte, said of the program in the news release. “We’re committed to supporting innovative initiatives designed by the community, for the community, to improve the HS journey.”
For its inaugural year, the theme of the program is “Empowering Patients on Their HS Journey.” Applications are open through March 31, 2026. Awards will be granted at two levels: up to $35,000 and up to $100,000. Both awards support projects of varying scale, the news release noted.
Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of dermatologists and patient advocates, including Dr. Steve Daveluy (Wayne State University), Dr. Vivian Shi (University of Washington), and patient leaders Athena Gierbolini, PreShus Lee, and Joey Torre.
“HS is more than just a skin condition-it's a life-altering disease that remains widely misunderstood and frequently misdiagnosed,” said Dr. Daveluy in the news release. "What excites me the most about IIA in HS is the chance to uplift idease that ocme directly from the community-creating patient-centered solutions that aim to bring lasting change for those living with HS."
