It’s National Biologic Coordinators Day. Janssen Pharmaceuticals has launched the first national awareness day on November 1 to recognize Biologic Coordinators’ daily commitment to patient care.

Even as the use of biologic therapies continues to expand, many people are unaware of what a biologic coordinator is or the critical role they play in a patient’s treatment journey. Janssen says it seeks to raise awareness of the role of Biologic Coordinators and invites others to join the company in saying “thank you” to all biologic coordinators.

“Biologic coordinators are some of the most important advocates for patients in healthcare—yet too often, their work goes unrecognized. At Janssen, we have a longstanding commitment to supporting the needs of people living with autoimmune diseases, as well as the care teams involved in the patient journey,” says Nikki Longwell, PhD, Sr. Director, Medical Science Liaisons, Immunology, Janssen. “We recognize the daily commitment of these unsung heroes in patient care and wanted to create an annual dedication where the community can share gratitude specifically to biologic coordinators.

“Janssen is inspired by the connectivity, dedication, and compassion of biologic coordinators for the patients they work tirelessly to support, and we want to make sure that their work is recognized—not just among patients and physicians, but also among the industry and general public,” she adds.
