La Roche-Posay, a subsidiary of L'oreal, recently announced the launch of its new a new serum corrector for dark spots, the Mela B3 Dark Spot Serum with MelasylTM + Nicinamide.

According to the manufacturer, the launch was preceded by 18 years of research, as well as research from a consumer study of more than 23,000 people looking at pigmentary disorders and impacts on quality of life. The product features an exclusive, patented ingredient, MelasylTM, that visibly reduces dark spots across all skin tones. The serum can be used to treat visible discoloration, dark spots, age spots, sun spots, and post-acne marks (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation), as well as uneven skin tone, dullness, and lack of radiance. Visible results from use of the product can be seen after 8 weeks, according to the manufacturer site. Users can apply 3 to 4 drops each morning and evening following a facial cleanser to the face and neck.

Data from pivotal consumer surveys of Mela B3 were presented at the recent IMCAS World Congress 2024 in Paris.
