Lauren Miller, MPAS, PA-C is president of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants Board of Directors. Ms. Miller, a DermPA™ with Dermatology Specialists in Gadsden, AL, will serve a one-year term leading the nine-member elected board.

“I am honored and humbled to continue working with the membership while leading the talented SDPA Board of Directors,” Ms. Miller said. “As the demand for superior healthcare continues to grow, our profession will be looked upon to ensure that patients receive the best possible outcomes. I intend to work closely with leadership, members and other stakeholders to improve educational opportunities and other services aimed at empowering DermPAs.”

Ms. Miller, a native of Anniston, spent the last 14 years developing a deep passion for dermatologic conditions such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis and enjoys sharing her passion and knowledge with colleagues, other medical providers and students through lecturing, speaking roles within industry, as well as precepting students. She graduated summa cum laude from Jacksonville State University, earning her Bachelor of Science in both biology and chemistry. She went on to graduate from University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies.

“SDPA will continue on a positive trajectory highlighted by growth and expansion under the leadership of Lauren Miller,” says Renata Block, MMS, PA-C, SDPA Board Immediate Past President.  “Lauren’s wealth of experience serving as a board member and in other leadership roles positions her to excel as the board president.”

As an active member of SDPA, Ms. Miller served as the board’s president-elect, secretary/treasurer and director at large. She is a founding board member of the Alabama Society of Dermatology Professionals who served on the board as CME chair from 2017 to 2021. She is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
