Nano Surgical is partnering with George Tiemann and Company, to bring Lumohs’ illuminating device to dermatology market.
Lumohs is a patented, reusable scalpel handle that provides integrated shadowless illumination of the surgical site. With no light obstructions between the blade and the surgical site, Lumohs eliminates blind spots that can obscure tiny, critical nerves and blood vessels and likely reduce malpractice risk. Lumohs is reusable, steam autoclavable and cost effective.
“We are selecting the most trusted specialty distributors for bringing Lumohs to market and George Tiemann and Company hits the nail on the head,” says Dr. Steven Hacker, founder of Nano Surgical, LLC and inventor of the Lumohs scalpel handle.
“I’m so excited to work with Kenny [Moriarty, Vice President of George Tiemann and company], is a fixture amongst dermatologists, Mohs surgeons and leading academic institutions at George Tiemann and Company as we introduce Lumohs to all dermatologists and Mohs surgeons.”
“It is our privilege to help Nano Surgical bring Lumohs to market. We know how valuable light on the surgical site can be and Lumohs is the ideal solution for our Mohs surgery clients and general dermatologists, “ adds Mr. Moriarty.
“Unique features such as a wide round grip reduces hand fatigue while facilitating the twisting motion needed to create beveled edges during Mohs surgery. At the same time, Lumohs’ integrated light projects shadowless illumination on any skin surface. Most dermatologists performing shave biopsies in the vulva, genitalia or nasal, oral, and ear cavities, will want to have a Lumohs in their office for use in those situations,” says Mr. Moriarty. “Lumohs is a nice addition to our product line and we feel strongly many of our clients will be happy with Lumohs once doctors give it a try.”
