“I’m in awe of this honor,” says Dr. Bagel in a news release. “Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about the study and treatment of psoriasis for the benefit of my patients, and it is truly humbling to receive this award that recognizes my dedication and contributions toward a cure.”

He has published more than 150 articles, participated in more than 200 clinical trials and is sought after to peer review psoriasis articles for numerous dermatologic journals. He is the senior attending physician at the University Medical Center of Princeton, a member of the editorial board and columnist of Practical Dermatology magazine, and associate editor of the NPF peer-reviewed scientific journal, the Journal of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis.

Board-certified in dermatology, Dr. Bagel is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and co-chair of the Psoriasis Expert Resource Group. In 2016, the AAD awarded Dr. Bagel its Presidential Citation for his “significant contributions and dedication to promoting excellence in psoriasis research.”

Windsor Dermatology’s Psoriasis Treatment Center of Central New Jersey is an integral part of Dr. Bagel’s practice and the state’s first complete facility for advanced psoriasis research and therapies. Dr. Bagel launched his practice on June 28, 1985, with just himself, a receptionist and a handful of clients. Today, the thriving practice includes six board-certified dermatologists, a newly expanded clinical trials department and a cutting-edge research facility. The 3,000-square-foot clinical trials department puts a strong emphasis on medical dermatology research and treatment through high-quality clinical trials, in which the practice has been participating since 1990. Windsor Dermatology has been involved in most of the FDA-approved psoriasis treatments over the past 25 years.

Dr. Bagel’s commitment to the NPF mission to drive efforts to cure psoriatic disease and improve the lives of those affected will be celebrated at the Commit to Cure Gala on June 7 in  New York City.
