“I’m honored to take the helm at this time of change, as dermatologists adapt to the changes in the health care system while continuing to provide quality care to patients with skin, hair, and nail conditions,” said Dr. Lebwohl. “Dermatologists have unique training and expertise, and we need to ensure that the services we offer are fairly valued and that patients have full access to our care and to the treatments we prescribe.”

Dr. Lebwohl earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston, Mass. He completed his residency in dermatology from the Icahn School of Medicine at the Mount Sinai in New York where he is currently a professor and chairman in dermatology. He is the author of 50 book chapters and 500 articles. He has co-edited 10 books and given more than 500 presentations.

Dr. Berger said, “I’m very excited to have the opportunity to serve the Academy at a time of real challenge, with a lot of changes in the health care system. I’m delighted that the Academy membership has trusted me to play a role in guiding the organization through these uncharted waters.”

Dr. Berger is a clinical dermatology professor at the University of California in San Francisco. He received his medical degree from Southwest Medical School, University of Texas, in Dallas. He completed his residency in dermatology at the Letterman Army Medical Center and his fellowship in dermatopathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology.
