New Therapeutic Skin Care Line From Galderma

10/07/2015

Galderma Laboratories, LP, makers of Cetaphil, unveiled a new therapeutic skincare line precisely engineered for challenged skin—Excipial. It will be available over the counter and without a prescription. Excipial products are formulated with ingredients to heal, relieve, protect, and repair the most irritated and frustrated skin.

The new Excipial line includes:  Excipial Daily Protection Hand Cream and Excipial Rapid Repair Hand Cream, Excipial 10% Urea Hydrating Healing Lotion and Excipial 20% Urea Intensive Healing Cream, as well as Excipial for Bruising. Developed by dermatologists, these product formulations were designed to target the most challenging skin problems with an understanding of the way skin works, including the way it breaks down.

In clinical studies, the new Excipial Protect and Repair line, which includes Excipial Daily Protection Hand Cream and Excipial Rapid Repair Hand Cream was shown to significantly reduce TEWL. A key ingredient in the Daily Protection Hand Cream is aluminum hydrochlorate, providing glove-like protection around the skin that helps contain the natural oils or lipids, preventing evaporation or diffusion. The Rapid Repair Hand Cream includes tocopherol, providing end of day relief for hard-working hands as well as ingredients to soothe dry, itchy skin.  Tocopherols are organic chemical compounds that have properties of vitamin E.

While several over the counter products currently contain some percentage of urea, the new Excipial line includes a lotion and cream that contain significantly more urea than commonly found, providing more intensive relief. Excipial 10% Urea Hydrating Healing Lotion is an all over healing lotion that continuously hydrates to heal dry skin and soothe itchy, rough skin. It helps restore the skin's natural hydration system by replenishing reduced levels of natural urea and hydrating throughout the day to relieve dry, damaged, itchy skin.

Excipial 20% Urea Intensive Healing Cream is a fast-acting cream that hydrates to heal dry skin and sloughs away extremely dry or damaged skin on hands, elbows, knees and feet. It restores the skin's natural hydrating system and deeply moisturizes to smooth away cracked, rough skin.

Excipial for Bruising is an oral supplement specially formulated to minimize the appearance of bruising and support healthy-looking skin. It supports blood vessel health with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and is ideally used for bruising due to senile purpura.

All of the Excipial products are now available exclusively at CVS in-store and online at cvs.com. The line will be available at additional national retail and online outlets beginning January, 2015.
