NPF Launches Multimedia Resource Center for Health Care Providers Caring for Individuals with Psoriatic Disease
The National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) is committed to offering innovative ways for health care providers (HCPs) to stay up-to-date on the latest news and research related to psoriatic disease. As part of its five-year strategic plan to improve health outcomes for all living with the disease, including improving physician awareness and education on optimal care, NPF launched a new resource center for HCPs. This multimedia resource center offers HCPs more ways to access continuing medical education (CME) and other resources, by watching, listening, or reading and claiming CME credit while maintaining their daily routines.
The objective of the NPF CME program is to provide high-quality, mission-driven continuing and professional education with the goal of increasing practitioner knowledge, competence, and care of psoriatic disease. This includes focusing on comorbidities, pathophysiology, treatment options, clinical guidelines, and disease impact. In 2018, the NPF CME program received accreditation with commendation from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education. This accreditation demonstrates NPF leadership in delivering high-quality CME programs that meet rigorous standards for educational excellence and independence—placing NPF in an elite category, as few other patient advocacy organizations are accredited CME provide
“NPF has a long history of providing innovative medical education that supports providers in improving the lives of those living with psoriatic disease,” explains Stacie Bell, PhD, NPF Chief Scientific and Medical Officer. “We’re excited to evolve and enhance these efforts by offering modern ways for health care providers to learn about the disease, stay up-to-date on research and treatment advancements, and earn CME credit.”
The new resource center, which launched November 15, contains a robust library of multimedia content for HCPs, including CME podcasts, webinars, and videos. NPF CME programs will continue to focus on increasing practitioner knowledge and overall competence in caring for those with psoriatic disease, while moving towards the goal of substantially increasing the number of people receiving appropriate treatment and improving health outcomes.
