PruGen Pharmaceuticals Takes Action to Aid Hurricane Relief Efforts

October 16, 2017

In the wake of several devastating and destructive hurricanes in the continental US and Puerto Rico, PruGen Pharmaceuticals is helping to those in need. The PruGen Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by PruGen Pharmaceuticals and focused on philanthropic and social responsibility initiatives, has set up a Hurricane Relief Fund with a goal of raising $250,000 to provide to the hurricane victims of the US and Puerto Rico.

In Puerto Rico especially, the damage has been so catastrophic that parts of the island are estimated to remain without power for months. Food, running water, and supply shortages are accumulating on top of an already prolonged economic crisis, making it more challenging than ever to rebuild and restore the island.

The relief fund can be accessed at www.youcaring.com/prugencares. PruGen has committed to matching every dollar donated by customers and employees to help maximize the impact made by the dermatology community.

“In these trying and overwhelming times, it is our duty as global citizens to aid in the relief efforts and use our voice to help generate action. As a pharmaceutical company, our main focus will be on helping to ensure victims of these devastating hurricanes have access to the care they need,” said Sean Lonergan, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of PruGen Pharmaceuticals. “What’s more, at PruGen, we believe that when we come together, united for a common cause, the sky’s the limit for the impact we can make for those in need.”

*The PruGen Foundation is new and not yet recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization but an application is pending with the IRS.
