The inaugural Patient Advocacy Summit, hosted by Skin Cancer Champions, will be held on October 30, 2026, at The Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston, Massachusetts, the organization announced.

“The Summit is an important milestone in our mission of providing support, advocacy, and amplifying the voice of patients who are on a non-melanoma skin cancer journey,” Skin Cancer Champions said in a press release.

Launched in April 2024 by Emily S. Ruiz, MD, MPH, FAAD, and Chrysalyne D. Schmults, MD, MSCE, FAAD, Skin Cancer Champions is a free online community dedicated to supporting patients and caregivers affected by non-melanoma skin cancers.

The summit will unite patients, care partners, medical experts, and industry leaders to hear firsthand from patients, learn about treatment options and breakthroughs from medical professionals, and gain insights from industry representatives. There is no cost to attend.

Skin Cancer Champions says keeping the patient at the center of its mission remains a top priority and that the summit offers a unique forum to further this dialogue.

"Reflecting on the progress made since its inception, when we launched Skin Cancer Champions 2 years ago, our goal was to improve the journey for those affected by non-melanoma skin cancer,” Dr. Ruiz said. “It continues to be incredibly rewarding to hear from patients and their caregivers that they feel informed, connected, and supported."
