March 19, 2024

The awards are designed to foster research and advancement in acne, rosacea, and hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) research.

The American Acne and Rosacea Society (AARS) has announced the commencement of its grant application cycle for AARS Clinical Research Awards ($10K) and the prestigious AARS Research Scholar Award ($75K).

According to a press release, the AARS offers its Clinical Research Awards for the advancement of clinical science, while nurturing young investigators in the areas of acne, rosacea, and hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). Dermatology residents, research fellows, and recent graduates are encouraged to apply for the clinical research grants. The AARS Research Scholar Award aims to support dedicated investigators working at the level of Instructor through Associate Professor, with a focus on furthering knowledge and improving patient care in dermatology, specifically acne or rosacea. Chris G. Bunick, MD, PhD, of Yale University, was the recipient of the AARS Research Scholar Award in 2023.

"I like to see grants that are well thought out, and I like to see that applicants have a good mentor to support them in their research," Dr. Guy Webster, Chair of the AARS Grant Committee, and an applicant reviewer, said in a news release.

Applications are now open until May 31, 2024. For more information and to apply, visit https://acneandrosacea.org/grant-opportunities for more information.
