Two New Options for After-Sun Care Launched

08/28/2024

San Diego-based skincare company Terns announced today that it has launched two new after-sun care products targeting outdoor enthusiasts.

The products, which include a range of creams and gels, are formulated with the proprietary Sirenas Complex, which the manufacturer said is derived from marine botanicals. These, according to the press release, have been shown to effectively reduce skin inflammation and oxidative stress, common issues faced by individuals exposed to prolonged sunlight.

EVERYDAY Cream

EVERYDAY Daily After-Sun Care cream is designed to mitigate the effects of UV exposure and environmental stressors. The product features the Sirenas Complex, which targets free radicals and deactivates inflammatory pathways triggered by sun exposure and pollutants. This complex is complemented by other active ingredients that stimulate collagen production, improve skin elasticity, and reduce oxidative stress.

The cream also incorporates fatty acids and phytosterols to rebuild the skin’s protective lipid layer, while nourishing butters and oils prevent dehydration, according to Terns. This formula is particularly beneficial for patients experiencing minor irritations from environmental stressors, providing daily care that supports long-term skin health.

MAYDAY Gel Cream

MAYDAY Intense After-Sun Relief gel cream is designed specifically for rapid recovery from sunburn and skin irritation following more intense sun exposure and features a high concentration of the proprietary Sirenas Complex.  Dermatologists may find the product beneficial for patients with acute sunburns or those in need of swift skin repair post-exposure, according to the manufacturer.

The gel cream’s formulation includes fatty acids and phytosterols, which Terns says works to rebuild the skin’s protective lipid layer while nourishing butters and oils prevent dehydration. The cream provides immediate relief through a cooling sensation that rapidly reduces redness and irritation. Its cruelty-free and vegan composition, which Terns said is free from parabens, phthalates, sulfates, and synthetic fragrances, makes it suitable for all skin types.
