Victoria Kennedy receives ASLMS' First Leadership, Mentorship & Public Advocacy for Women in Medical Science Award
Victoria Reggie Kennedy will receive the first Leadership, Mentorship & Public Advocacy for Women in Medical Science Award at the annual meeting of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS).
The award will be presented at the Celebration of ASLMS Women in Energy-Based Devices event on April 1, 2016 at ASLMS 2016 in Boston, Massachusetts.
Mrs. Kennedy is an advocate for expanding medical research and for access to health care for all Americans. She is senior counsel in the corporate and securities practice at Greenberg Traurig LLP, as well as President of the Board and co-founder of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate.
In addition to her law practice, board service and non-profit leadership roles, Mrs. Kennedy has served in key strategic and political roles on issues ranging from health, education, economic opportunity and involvement in the political process.
“Given her far-reaching efforts on projects that have encouraged and assisted women to achieve excellence in science and medicine, I can think of no better recipient for this inaugural award,” says Washington DC dermatologist Tina Alster, MD, who will present the award to Mrs. Kennedy.
