Janssen Approvals, New Thermage FLX, Restylane Silk Cannulas

Janssen Biotech's Stelara is now approved for the treatment of adolescents 12 years of age or older with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis who are candidates for phototherapy or systemic therapy. Janssen's SIMPONI ARIA® cleared for the treatment of adults with active psoriatic arthritis or active ankylosing spondylitis. The FDA has green lighted the use of a small blunt tip cannula with Galderma's Restylane Silk for lip augmentation. Solta Medical's new Thermage FLX System is now approved for smoothing skin on the face, eyes, and body. Cornell University researchers may be closer to understanding how accumulated genetic mutations in melanocytes lead to melanoma formation.
