Allergan Calls for Real Patient Stories in New Campaign


Allergan Aesthetics has announced that it is inviting consumers to participate in upcoming campaigns for their flagship brands, including BOTOX® Cosmetic, the JUVÉDERM® collection of fillers.

Both current and prospective patients can now apply for a chance to feature in future brand promotions. The initiative follows the success of the BOTOX® Cosmetic "See Yourself" campaign, which received around 20,000 submissions and spotlighted a diverse range of patients sharing their authentic treatment experiences.

"Following the success of our BOTOX® Cosmetic "See Yourself" campaign we are continuing our commitment to showcasing natural-looking results that real patients and their providers are able to achieve with our brands," said Jasson Gilmore, Senior Vice President, U.S. Aesthetics, said in a press release. "There is nothing more powerful than seeing someone you can relate to sharing their aesthetic journey. With this casting call, we are elevating more authentic patient voices while driving increased diversity across the entire the industry, with the goal of making this the standard for aesthetics."

Partnering with Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW), Black Beauty Roster, Latinas in Beauty, and The Black Beauty Club, Allergan said that it is extending the casting call to their members, providing a platform for real patients to share their journeys.

"We are seeing a trend towards consumers demanding authenticity from beauty, cosmetic, and aesthetic companies. Allergan Aesthetics is the only company we are aware of that is driving that effort in the aesthetics category, where we feel this level of transparency and representation is essential," said The Black Beauty Club co-founders Tomi Talabi and Asmeret Berhe-Lumax. "We are thrilled to see a company like Allergan Aesthetics listen to the voices of our members, and the members of other organizations like ours, to drive real change in how aesthetic products and treatments are marketed. We know this authentic approach to engaging with consumers and reflecting their voices is essential."

The campaigns will feature personal testimonials, before and after treatment content, behind-the-scenes footage, self-filmed treatment diaries, and before-and-after series on various social media platforms. The casting call will be open until June 4, 2024, with applications accepted at The final cast for each brand will be announced later this year.
