Epicutis Launches Arctigenin Brightening Treatment
Epicutis announced that it has launched its Arctigenin Brightening Treatment, marking what the manufacturer called a significant shift in skin brightening treatments.
"Brightening the skin safely is one of the foremost challenges in dermatology," said James Wang, MD, double-board certified dermatologist and Founder of Metropolis Dermatology, in a press release. "Although there are skincare options for brightening, such as Vitamin C, Kojic Acid, and Arbutin, results have been generally underwhelming. In fact, there have been few advances since the eighties that have yielded meaningful outcomes."
The brightening treatment also incorporates HYVIA® (Salvia Hispanica Seed Oil) and Canadian white pine bark extract, both shown to enhance skin clarity, improve hydration, and reduce inflammation, according to the press release. The ingredients work synergistically to maximize the brightening effect.
"[This] new skin brightening technology is a novel compound the provides us a safe, gentle, and pure option to offer our patients with pigmentation and sensitive skin," Dr. Wang added.
Epicutis Arctigenin Brightening Treatment (SRP $175) can be purchased from professional med spas, dermatologists, plastic surgeons as well as online at epicutis.com.
