Study researchers evaluated a redesigned backstop and reinforced plunger rod intended to address some of the physical demands associated with HA filler injections. The study included 30 aesthetic healthcare professionals in China and Korea who had a mean 8.6 years of aesthetic practice. Participants performed simulated facial HA filler injections on training models using the investigational add-on with both needles and cannulas.
Investigators assessed injection and aspiration experience using visual analogue scales and evaluated comfort, ergonomics, overall satisfaction, and qualitative feedback. Participants also completed a separate exploratory comparison between the investigational device and a standard backstop/plunger-rod configuration using a needle.
