Prurigo nodularis can present differently in patients with skin of color. We know that there are biologic differences in, for instance, the fibroblasts, which help to produce scar tissue. And so often these patients may not show necessarily bright red erythema, but their inflammation may bemasked with dark brown or a gray hue and the areas may even appear like keloids a little thicker. So this is something that we see a lot in patients with skin of color and the deeper the skin tone, the more often these patients get misdiagnosed.
